I grew up in the Pacific Northwest where I earned my BS and MS degrees in chemistry. I then joined the Navy in 1978 retiring at the rank of Commander in the Medical Service Corps. During this time I earned a Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry and a Master of Science in Technical Management. I enjoy both theater and music which allow me to delve into the artistic realm providing a creative outlet which I find very rewarding and given that combination I have been active in musical theater working with a number of community theater groups from coast to coast. Another activity I really enjoy is refereeing soccer for which I had the distinct pleasure of working the professional leagues for 25 years. During this time I was able to achieve the level of National Referee with the United States Soccer Federation and held that grade for 14 years until going "Emeritus" (meaning I retired from the active National ranks) in 2005. I served as and recently stepped down from the role of National Referee Coach which allowed me to give back to our referee community as an instructor and mentor. I retired from full time employment in October 2021 and now look for opportunities to serve others using the experience and expertise that I gained over the years in my various roles.
